In this workshop students will learn the basics of recording video and/or audio interviews including how to prepare questions, how to set up the camera, lights, and microphone, and how to conduct the interview to get the most powerful and editable answers.

 

In addition to her role as the Film Study Center’s Administrative Director Julie Mallozzi is a documentary filmmaker. Her work explores the ways cultural traditions from around the globe intersect, hybridize, and are turned to new social purposes far from their original context. Her films have won awards at festivals around the world and have screened in museums, universities, and on public television. Mallozzi has also created over 100 videos and transmedia projects for community organizations. She received her BA from Harvard University and her MFA from San Francisco Art Institute. Mallozzi has taught at Harvard University, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston University, and Rhode Island School of Design.
