Fellowships Overview

The Film Study Center offers fellowships to both internationally eminent and emerging filmmakers, video artists, sound artists, and photographers whose creative projects seek to interpret the world, especially the fabric of human existence and cultural difference, through images and sounds.

It supports fellows with grants; use of our film, video, photographic, and audio equipment and facilities; workshops and technical assistance; and involvement in a community of fellow artists.

The Film Study Center awards several types of fellowships, each with specific guidelines for eligibility. FSC-Harvard Fellowships and FSC-Radcliffe Fellowships are by application, with annual deadlines. FSC-Radcliffe Fellowships are administered by the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study with a deadline generally in the fall, usually September. The FSC-Harvard Fellowship deadline is February 15, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Robert E. Fulton III, Gardner FSC, and McMillan-Stewart Fellows are selected by a committee of practitioners and theorists and are by nomination only.
