Huahua’s Dazzling World And Its Myriad Temptations by Daphne Xu To Premiere at Cinema Du Reel

HUAHUA’S DAZZLING WORLD AND ITS MYRIAD TEMPTATIONS premieres at Cinema du Reel

Huahua’s Dazzling World And Its Myriad Temptations by Daphne Xu will have its world premiere at Cinema Du Reel. The film stars Huahua, an eccentric and exuberant woman from Xiongan New Area, who livestreams herself dancing, singing, and chatting with fans for a living. Cell phone screens, beauty filters, and digital soundscapes reveal a world that Huahua creates with her own image. Congratulations, Daphne!

And Congratulations to Radcliffe-FSC fellow Nicolás Pereda. Nicolás’ short film Dear Chantal screens at the festival as well. Dear Chantal is a miniature homage to Chantal Akerman, conceived as a series of playfully impossible letters that respond to her inquiry about renting his sister’s home in Mexico City.

And several FSC filmmakers continue their festival run at Cinema du Reel, including Joana Pimenta and Adirley Queirós’ Dry Ground Burning and Kevin Jerome Everson’s Lago Gatún.
